Job summary

PENN Entertainment invites applications for a Line Cook to join our high-volume kitchen team. You will prepare a variety of food items according to recipes, maintain quality and sanitation standards, and coordinate with dining room staff to ensure timely service.

You should have a minimum of one year as a line cook, strong English communication, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma required; culinary arts degree preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in culinary arts or recognized apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience as a line cook.
• Strong written and verbal communication; fluent in English.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate with team members at all levels.
• Ability to read recipes and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Learn and be familiar with the facility’s room outlets and answer general questions about the property.
• Read food orders and prepare items according to menu plans.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes to ensure consistency.
• Wash, slice, peel, and cut various foods for cooking or serving.
• Taste and test foods to ensure appropriate cooking level.
• Ensure procedures, standards, and menu specs are met.
• Coordinate with dining room staff and communicate orders.
• Prepare items accurately and promptly.
• Complete prep items as written on prep sheet.
• Maintain sanitary, safe, and clean work areas and equipment.
• Follow Health Department regulations on food handling and storage.
