Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a Line Cook to join our fast-paced kitchen team. You will learn the facility’s outlets, read orders, and prepare items per standard recipes while maintaining high quality and speed.

The role requires at least one year of line cook experience, strong English communication, and strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards in a busy environment. Training, confidential handling of information, and teamwork are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree in culinary arts or recognized apprenticeship preferred.
• Minimum one year of experience as a line cook.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be fluent and literate in English.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
• Ability to read recipes and measurements with basic math.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members at all levels.
• Experience in high-volume, fast-paced operation and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Learn and be familiar with the facility’s room outlets, and answer general questions about the property.
• Read food orders from computer printouts and prepare items according to established menu plans.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes to ensure product consistency.
• Wash, slice, peel, and cut various foods for cooking or serving.
• Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking using tasting, smell, or utensil tests.
• Ensure work procedures, quality standards, and menu specs are followed.
• Coordinate with dining room staff and communicate orders.
• Complete all prep items as written on prep sheet.
• Maintain sanitary, safe, and efficient use of all areas and equipment.
• Enforce Health Department regulations on food handling and cleanliness.
• Attend company training programs as scheduled.
• Complete opening, closing and other side duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Communicate with Lead Cook and Sous Chefs as needed.
• Follow SOPs to ensure consistent execution of standards.
• Maintain confidentiality in all company matters.
