Job summary

NHE, Inc. is seeking a Community Manager for its Affordable Management unit in Beaufort, SC. The role oversees fiscal accountability, marketing, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision across LIHTC or Section 8 properties.

You will manage leasing, collections, re-certifications, and interims, with flexibility for varied schedules including weekends. Responsibilities include staff development, property inspections, and ensuring adherence to HUD, IRS, and Fair Housing standards, while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or two years of successful working experience in the apartment management industry, including extensive customer service and leasing/marketing preferred.
• Must have training or experience in basic computer use, including Word/Excel and web-based apartment management software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee move-ins/outs and re-certifications per HUD/NHE guidelines.
• Monitor regulatory compliance (LIHTC Section 42, HUD Section 8/PRAC/HAP, HOME, HTF).
• Maintain Fair Housing compliance across properties.
• Ensure properties adhere to program regulations and IRS/HUD guidelines.
• Supervise onsite staff and coordinate hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Manage property maintenance programs and resident service responses.
