Job summary

Utah Transit Authority seeks a Rail Operations Supervisor to oversee the continuous daily operation of the Light Rail System, coordinating safe movement of rail traffic, radio communications, and collaboration with OPS and Maintenance teams. You will record train movements, supervise on-duty staff, and ensure safety while meeting operational and financial targets.

Qualifications

• Four years leadership experience in supervision or related roles.
• Three years customer service experience solving problems.
• Two years transit industry experience preferred.
• Pass basic level tests in Word and Excel.
• Must pass pre-qualification exam.

Responsibilities

• Supervises continuous daily operation of the Light Rail System.
• Directs and coordinates safe and efficient movement of rail traffic within a territory.
• Maintains detailed records of train movements, logs, and schedules.
• Uses radios, telephones, and computer systems to monitor trains.
• Represent department in meetings with outside agencies.
