Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 1, Life Skills to provide one-on-one support for a student, 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year. The role is non-exempt and requires teamwork with teachers and staff to implement life skills and academic plans.

The position emphasizes safety, positive behavior support, and collaboration with the classroom team to help the student achieve Individualized Education Program goals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits OR ParaPro Assessment 455+.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with lessons and adaptations.
• Support student with life skills and academic activities.
• Monitor and manage student behavior in classroom settings.
• Provide supervision and safety during transportation and transitions.
