Vancouver Public Schools Fort Vancouver High School in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 1, Life Skills. The role is 6.5 hours per day, 9 months per year and involves a one-on-one placement with a student, focusing on life skills and supportive instruction.

Starting immediately, the position requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferences for related experience and educational credentials. Training in CPI/de-escalation may be required after hiring.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Associate's degree (90 qtr/60 sem) or 72 qtr/48 sem credits from an accredited institution; or ETS ParaPro score 455+.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to de-escalate and manage student behavior.
• Ability to learn computer use and adaptive technologies.
• Flexibility with tasks and schedules.

Responsabilidades

• Treat co-workers, students, parents and others with dignity and respect.
• Serve as a positive role model and support teacher in IEP goals.
• Work as a team member to implement and evaluate goals and objectives.
• Attend team meetings to provide observational input.
• Assist with data entry, record keeping and filing.
• Observe students and intervene to ensure safety in various settings.
• Attend mandatory training and complete required certifications as needed.
