Job summary

Caretenders Home Health, part of the LHC Group and a member of the Optum family, is hiring a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to deliver therapy and education under the supervision of a Physical Therapist in patients' homes.

The PTA will perform treatment, provide exercise instruction, and advance patient well-being following the established plan of care while coordinating with the health care team.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice physical therapy in state of practice
• Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance or access to dependable transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days (preferred)
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Follow state-specific laws governing home health PT services and perform only procedures within the supervising PT’s plan of care
• Instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADLs, transfers, and prosthetic training
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to supervising PT and care team, coordinating care as appropriate
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy within PTA scope
• Function in diverse home environments and with patients of all ages and backgrounds
