Job summary

Caretenders, a Caretenders by LHC Group and part of the Optum family, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatment and provide exercise instruction and patient education under the plan of care.

You will follow state laws, assist patients with exercises, observe responses, and communicate changes to the supervising PT. Weekend rotation is required; a valid PTA license in the state and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Preferred CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws governing home care physical therapy and the plan of care.
• Instruct and assist patients with active and passive exercises and mobility training.
• Observe, record, and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers within the scope of physical therapy.
• Function effectively in diverse home settings and patient populations.
