Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Licensed PTA in Illinois (IDFPR) or eligibility.
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Board eligible and ready to complete the board exam when available and complete required CE.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using relevant teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and available evidence after communicating with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67).
• Completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
• Provides therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation and aquatic therapy.
• Documents daily notes and therapy EMR charges; coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions.
