Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care under a physical therapist, treating patients of all ages. The PTA will act as a clinical resource for staff and students and participate in documentation per policy.

The role includes therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy as needed, with daily EMR documentation and collaboration with the PT.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days.
• Board eligible/complete board exam and continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist’s plan of care and documents communications in the daily note.
• Performs treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound.
• Administers electrical stimulation.
• Provides aquatic therapy as applicable.
• Completes daily documentation and charges in the therapy EMR.
• Coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions.
• Communicates progress and recommendations to referring providers.
