Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in good standing where required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Board Eligible/Required to complete board exam and ongoing CEU for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows therapist's plan of care; adjusts treatment based on patient response and communicates with evaluating therapist.
• Documents in daily notes and adheres to Clinical Documentation Policy.
• Completes annual education to comply with program requirements (e.g., DNV Hip and Knee Replacement).
• Performs treatments including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
• Completes daily documentation and charges in therapy EMR; coordinates with PT on patient interventions and progress.
