Job summary

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in PTA, is licensed as a PTA in Illinois (IDFPR), and has BLS certification. Board eligibility is required, with ongoing CEUs to meet program requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Licensed PTA in Illinois (IDFPR).
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA).
• Board-eligible; must complete board exam at next available date.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care staff using effective teaching methods.
• Follows and adjusts the therapist’s plan of care based on patient response with physician communication and daily notes.
• Maintains documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67).
• Completes annual education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program (when applicable).
• Follows treatment plan of care and provides interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and aquatic therapy.
