Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to implement the plan of care under the guidance of a Physical Therapist. You will educate patients and families and document patient progress in the therapy EMR.

The role includes aquatic therapy, gait and balance training, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation. Applicants must hold an Associate's Degree, an Illinois PTA license, and BLS within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (IDFPR) in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• Board Eligible/Required to complete board exam when available; complete required continuing education for acute stroke care.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response and evidence after communication with evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation in accordance with Clinical Documentation Policy.
• If applicable, completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
• Follows treatment plan of care established by PT and provides interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, aquatic therapy.
• Completes daily documentation and charging in therapy EMR and coordinates with PT on patient treatment interventions.
• Communicates with referring provider on patient progress and treatment recommendations.
