Job summary

Construction Material Testing in Alaska seeks licensed Professional Engineers to serve as seller-doers. You’ll balance business development with technical workload, winning and sealing projects while maintaining client relationships and coordinating with the lab.

Base salary runs from $115,000 to $150,000 depending on license history, market, and the book of business you bring, plus a revenue share. Travel to client offices and jobsites is expected.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record in bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities to signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate testing schedules with the laboratory.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
