Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who thrive selling and engineering in equal measure. You will develop clients, scope and price proposals, and seal reports as engineer of record while coordinating with our lab and field staff in Sugar Land or your market.

You bring a valid PE license, 6+ years in materials testing or geotechnical work, and a demonstrated ability to grow revenue by winning and retaining projects. Travel to client sites is required.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection, including client-facing responsibility.
• A track record of bringing in work, or a credible plan for how you would in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
