Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a seller-doer engineer who can balance business development with technical workload. You’ll manage client relationships, review test data, and seal reports, while leading a team of technicians and coordinating with our Sugar Land laboratory.

Qualified candidates hold an active PE license, have 6+ years in relevant fields, and can demonstrate a plan to generate new work or a proven track record. Travel and field work are expected as part of this role.

Qualifications

• PE license in the posting state or via comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, seal reports/letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
