Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed PEs to drive business development and deliver geotechnical and materials testing services. You will manage client relationships and seal reports while overseeing technical work and coordinating with the lab team.

You will balance sales activity with project engineering, traveling to client offices and field sites as needed, and you will be compensated based on revenue you bring in plus base salary.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the state of posting, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• A track record of bringing in work, or a credible plan for how you would in this market.
• Comfort pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
