Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers who can pitch testing programs in a contractor's office and review compaction and geotechnical reports. You carry a business development target and a technical workload, preserving the relationships you win while compensation follows revenue you bring in.

The role blends client development with engineering work: sealing reports, coordinating field staff, and presenting at industry meetings.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so in this market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects; review data, seal reports and letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors; coordinate with the lab on testing schedules.
Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events.
