Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers to blend business development with technical work, from pitching testing programs to sealing geotechnical letters. You’ll manage client relationships and drive revenue from the projects you win.

You will coordinate with our laboratory and field staff, review data, and provide clear engineering letters while traveling to client offices and jobsites as needed in your market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state, or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to develop business in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms.
• Serve as engineer of record on projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
