Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks licensed Professional Engineers who are comfortable in a contractor's office pitching a testing program as they review reports and seal letters. You bring the relationships and your stamp, while the lab and field staff handle operations.

A week blends sales with engineering: develop clients, scope and price proposals, and serve as engineer of record on projects you win; travel to client offices and sites is expected in your market.

Qualifications

• Active PE license (civil, geotechnical, or structural) in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
• Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to do so.
• Comfort with pricing, negotiating, and saying no to bad contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review data, seal reports and letters, and coordinate with testing labs.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
