Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to drive business development alongside technical review of geotechnical and materials testing projects. You will manage client relationships, scope and price proposals, and seal reports while coordinating with our laboratory and field staff across projects.

You will travel to client sites, attend meetings, and represent the company at industry events. A strong emphasis on revenue growth and quality work defines this role.

Qualifications

• Active PE license in the state of posting or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
• 6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection.
• A record of bringing in work, or a credible plan for how you would in this market.
• Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a book of clients — general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms — for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
• Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
• Serve as engineer of record on the projects you win: review field and laboratory data, seal reports and letters.
• Direct technicians and inspectors on your projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
• Represent the company at owner meetings, pre-construction meetings, and industry events in your market.
