Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to plan and administer treatment programs that alleviate pain, restore function, and promote overall health. The role serves as a clinical resource and coach for staff and students.

The position focuses on delivering professional services, coordinating with the medical team, and ensuring high-quality patient outcomes across the care team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree: Occupational Therapy (Required)
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) – IDFPR (Illinois)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days – AHA

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient transfers using safe body mechanics and respect patient dignity.
• Design and adjust plans of care based on patient response and evidence.
• Assess, fit, and modify splints/orthotics as needed.
• Educate patients and families using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluate clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and plans of care.
• Conduct examinations using appropriate methods relevant to complaints, history, and screenings.
• Screen patients to determine need for additional therapy services.
• Monitor and provide feedback on care delivered by support staff.
• Communicate with medical teams and document care per standards.
• Meet customer service and productivity standards and participate in team activities.
