Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to plan and administer therapy treatments aimed at alleviating pain, restoring function, and promoting overall health. The role serves as a clinical resource for staff and students and acts as a patient-focused advocate within a team environment.

The position includes sign-on bonuses and relocation support, and offers opportunities to contribute to education and program development across our care teams, in alignment with Carle Health’s mission

Qualifications

• Licensed OT per IDFPR with active status.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Bachelor’s Degree: Occupational Therapy is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient transfers with assistance as needed.
• Demonstrates safe body mechanics to protect patients and staff.
• Designs and updates plan of care with goals, treatments, outcomes, and discharge plans.
• Adjusts care based on patient response and evidence.
• Creates, fits, and modifies splints/orthotics as needed.
• Educates patients, families, and other providers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings for PT diagnoses and plans.
• Conducts examinations with reliable methods relevant to chief complaint.
• Screens patients to determine therapy needs per legal and ethical guidelines.
• Monitors care by support personnel and provides feedback.
• Communicates with the medical team and documents per standards.
• Meets customer service and productivity standards.
• Acts as a clinical instructor when assigned.
• Participates in team and department activities.
• Performs reporting and other duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's Degree: Occupational Therapy

Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT)

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days
