Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to plan and administer treatment plans that alleviate pain, restore function, and promote overall health. This role serves as a clinical resource for staff and students and participates in teaching as a clinical instructor when needed.

The position emphasizes safety, evidence-based care, and collaboration with the medical team to ensure positive patient outcomes across our facilities.

Qualifications

• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - IDFPR (Illinois)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - AHA
• Bachelor’s Degree: Occupational Therapy (Required)

Responsibilities

• Transfers: perform patient transfers with assist; use safe body mechanics and treat patients with dignity and respect.
• Designs an appropriate plan of care with goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan; adjusts based on patient response.
• Assesses for, creates, modifies, fits splints/orthotics.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
• Evaluates findings to determine PT diagnoses and plan of care.
• Performs examination using validated methods; screens patients for therapy needs.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel; provides feedback.
• Communicates with medical team; documentation per standards.
• Meets customer service and productivity standards; serves as clinical instructor when assigned.
• Participates in team, program, department assignments and meetings.
