Boscov's Department Store, LLC is seeking a Licensed Optical Manager to lead the Optical team and perform dispensing optician duties in a fast-paced department store setting. The role combines clinical dispensing with store leadership, patient care, and compliance responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will hold a CT license, bring 2+ years of retail management experience, and demonstrate strong customer service, scheduling, and merchandising skills to support store performance and patient

Qualifications

• Licensed optician in CT with active license
• 2+ years of management experience in retail
• Strong supervisory and mentoring skills
• Proficient with computer systems for sales, ordering and timekeeping
• Polished customer service and communication skills
• Able to handle scheduling, cash handling and store operations

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer experience and manage appointment scheduling
• Interpret prescriptions, perform optical measurements and dispense eyewear
• Lead and develop store associates to achieve sales goals
• Oversee daily store operations, workflow and inventory
• Process third-party vision insurance benefits and claims
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information
• Manage opening/closing, POS transactions and daily reconciliations
• Collaborate with Director to drive business performance and maintain relationships with doctors
• Maintain organized, visually appealing optical department
