Job summary

Cavalier Logistics is seeking a full-time licensed Customs Broker to join our team in Elk Grove Village, IL. The role covers day-to-day import operations, compliance reviews, data entry to the ABI system, and communication with overseas agents and clients.

Responsibilities include educating customers on U.S. and OGA requirements, filing customs entries, maintaining records, and ensuring timely, accurate reporting and billing.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in import operations and 2 years as a licensed broker.
• Knowledge of import routing and OGA regulations (FDA, FCC, USDA, CDS, DCMA, BATF).
• Experience in a 3PL environment and cross-department coordination.

Responsibilities

• Educate customers about U.S. Customs and Other Government Agency requirements.
• File entries with U.S. Customs, ensure timely dispatch of cargo, and perform accurate reporting and billing.
• Generate and maintain customer records, reports, databases, etc.
• Prepare and review routine reports.
• Respond to customer inquiries and ensure issue resolution.
• Handle customs clearance and classify duties and fees.
