Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a part-time Customer Services Specialist at the Northside Branch in Columbus, OH. The role involves handling customer inquiries, processing materials, and supporting service delivery across multiple channels.

You will assist with library accounts, operate technology, and help maintain a welcoming environment. The position includes varied shifts, including Fridays and Saturdays, with potential Sunday duties and an emphasis on customer experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology including PC, email, software programs and systems.
• Ability to utilize reliable transportation to report to job locations.

Responsibilities

• Processes and sorts materials accurately and efficiently including returns and holds and new materials.
• Greet customers and answer basic reference questions in person, by phone, or electronically; guide to staff and resources.
• Assist customers with library card accounts including applications, information verification, and account rules.
