Job summary

Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a part-time Customer Services Specialist at the Northern Lights Branch in Columbus, OH. Starting pay range is $18.01–$23.26 per hour, commensurate with experience, and will be adjusted for internal candidates per policy.

The role includes greeting customers, resolving inquiries, processing accounts, handling cash, and supporting location operations. The schedule involves evenings and weekends; benefits and retirement options are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to express self clearly in writing and speech.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Proficiency with library technology and office software (Windows/Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with library card accounts and explain rules.
• Greet customers and answer basic reference questions in person or digitally.
• Support location operations including opening/closing and supplies.
• Process money, deposits, and reconcile cash drawers.
• Provide training on library technology to customers and staff.
• Coordinate volunteers and assist staff with programs.
