Columbus Metropolitan Library is seeking a Customer Services Specialist at the Southeast Branch in Groveport, OH. The position is part-time (20/24 hr., non-exempt) with starting pay range of $18.01–$23.26 hourly.

You will greet customers, assist with library card accounts and payments, help users with technology, balance cash drawers, and support location operations while delivering a positive, helpful library experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to express self effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of Internet and database services.
• Ability to operate library technology and systems.
• Reliable transportation to report to assignments.

Responsibilities

• Process and sort materials accurately for returns, holds, and new items.
• Greet customers and answer reference questions in person, by phone, or online.
• Assist with library card accounts and process payments.
• Balance cash drawers, run deposits, and file receipts.
• Resolve account disputes through interviewing and negotiation.
• Support location operations: opening/closing, supplies, bulletin boards.
• Maintain library materials by cleaning, withdrawing, and shelving.
• Provide one-on-one training on library technology.
• Coordinate volunteers and orient new staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
