Job summary

Cincinnati & Hamilton County Public Library is seeking a Library Customer Adviser at the Covendale Branch to provide direct customer service, circulation, reference and technology assistance, and help visitors navigate the library.

This onsite, 40-hour-per-week role requires evening and weekend availability, handling materials, assisting with programs, and upholding library policies and the mission of connecting people with ideas and information.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Public library or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and move carts; on-site work only.

Responsibilities

• Circulates materials, checks in/out, processes holds, registers customers, collects fees.
• Assists customers with technology and reference needs.
• Shelves returned materials and assists with program displays.
• Handles readers’ advisory and general reference services.
• Provides coverage for desk, supports ILS reports and supply orders.
• Serves as in-charge when leadership unavailable.
• Represents library policies to the public.
