Job summary

The Cincinnati and Hamilton County Public Library invites applications for a PT Library Customer Adviser at Madisonville. This 20-hour-per-week role delivers direct customer service, circulates materials, assists with technology, and guides visitors.

The position requires a high school diploma, does not require prior experience, salary $17.48 per hour, and evenings/weekends. You will support daily operations and help connect patrons with information and library services.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills are essential.
• Able to arrange materials in alphabetical and numerical order.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with library technology and systems.
• Lift up to 50 pounds; push carts up to 150 pounds.
• Evenings and weekends work flexibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Circulates materials to customers, checks out, processes holds, and collects fees.
• Assists customers with technology.
• Shelves returned materials.
• Searches for requested materials.
• Provides readers’ advisory and reference services.
• Supports location duties: desk setup, bookdrop, deliveries, ILS reports, supply orders, interagency requests.
• Assists with collection maintenance, including weeding.
• Assists with programs, displays, and meeting room approvals.
• Refers customer issues to managers as needed.
• Prepares and deposits money from fees.
• Acts as person-in-charge in absence of leadership.
