Job summary

Pueblo City-County Library District is seeking a Librarian/Assistant Branch Manager to manage daily operations as second in charge and deliver outstanding customer service. You will work closely with the Branch Manager and partners to create impactful programs for children, teens, and adults.

The role requires leadership, community outreach, and strong knowledge of library systems, databases, and e-resources. Flexibility for evenings/weekends and a commitment to equity in service are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program; one year library experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and supervisory abilities to oversee branch operations.
• Excellent planning and program presentation skills for children and adults.
• Ability to conduct complex reference interviews and locate information.
• Public speaking and high-quality customer service skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull a fully loaded book cart up to 200 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Promotes customer service and assists patrons with library materials and resources.
• Presents story times, conducts outreach to schools and daycares, and coordinates children's programs.
• Partners with outside organizations for adult outreach and community services.
• Builds partnerships and arranges programs to promote library resources.
• Assists Branch Manager with daily operations, staffing, and scheduling.
• Serves as PIC in the manager’s absence and attends leadership meetings.
