Job summary

Pueblo City-County Library District is seeking a Librarian/Assistant Branch Manager to support daily branch operations, lead programs, and partner with community groups. The role emphasizes customer service, program development for children and adults, and collaborating with external organizations.

You will assist the Branch Manager, backfill shifts, and ensure safe, welcoming service while delivering outreach and instruction on e-resources and technology.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Library Science from ALA-accredited program.
• One year of library experience preferred.
• Ability to conduct complex reference interviews and research.
• Strong communication, leadership and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes proactive customer service and helps patrons locate materials and resources.
• Presents story times and coordinates youth programs; engages schools and daycare outreach.
• Partners with organizations to meet community needs; outreach to senior facilities.
• Builds community partnerships and arranges programs that promote library use.
• Assists Branch Manager with daily operations, staffing and safety.
• Acts as Person-In-Charge in the manager’s absence; handles time cards and schedule changes.
