Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist to join our KPMG Law practice in the United States. You will oversee complex client billing, ensuring invoices and time entries comply with Outside Counsel Guidelines and client specifications.

Responsibilities include prebills, edits, e-billing via LEDES formats, UTBMS coding, and acting as a billing SME for attorneys. You will also address inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and monitor AR aging in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

3+ years in legal billing and e-billing within a law firm or professional services
Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or 7 years of relevant experience in legal billing
Experience with major e-billing portals and billing software; strong MS Office, especially Excel
Experience interpreting Outside Counsel Guidelines (OCGs) and LEDES formats; UTBMS coding
Proven ability to navigate SAP invoice processing and reconcile data between systems
Excellent written and verbal communication; able to handle high volume invoices and meet deadlines

Responsibilities

Review, interpret, and manage OCGs and client billing rules; act as billing SME
Generate prebills, process edits, and prepare final invoices; apply retainers and discounts
Apply UTBMS codes and generate LEDES files; manage electronic bill submissions
Respond to billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies; maintain client/matter data
Review AR aging and assist with collections; provide billing forecasts and ad-hoc reports
Uphold integrity and professionalism in a fast-paced, client-first environment
