Job summary

The Leaves Analyst position with King County’s Public Health – Seattle & King County supports employees needing protected leave and serves as a subject matter expert on FMLA, KCFML, and other programs. This SDA/STT role runs about four months with possible extension, requiring collaboration across divisions and a commitment to equity and trauma-informed care in a rewarding HR environment.

Hybrid onsite work at the Chinook Building in Seattle with a Monday–Friday schedule, strong documentation

Qualifications

• Experience in human resources managing protected leaves and workplace accommodations.
• OR an equivalent combination of education and experience necessary to perform the scope of job duties.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Experience interpreting and applying FMLA, ADA, FLSA, Title VII, and applicable rulings.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on the administration of leaves under FMLA, KCFML, and other leave laws.
• Perform case management in a high-volume environment for employees needing leave assistance.
• Administer FMLA, KCFML, PPL, PFML, and other protected leaves with eligibility determinations.
• Track leave usage and coordinate with payroll to ensure correct time coding.
• Process Personnel Change Notices reflecting updates to leave status.
• Communicate with employees and supervisors regarding current leave status.
• Provide training on leave processes to employees and managers.
• Use Word, Excel, SharePoint, NEOGOV, and PeopleSoft to maintain documents and records.
