Job summary

King County’s Department of Public Health seeks a collaborative Leaves Analyst to support a four-month assignment handling protected leaves. The role specializes in FMLA, KCFML, and related programs within a high-volume HR setting.

The analyst will perform case management, advise on leave policies, and liaise with payroll, Benefits, and Central HR. The position is hybrid and onsite in Seattle, requiring residency in Washington state and availability for a Monday–Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in human resources managing protected leaves and workplace accommodations.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable to perform the duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation on FMLA, King County Family Medical Leave (KCFML), and other protected leaves.
• Perform case management in a high-volume environment for employees needing leave.
• Administer FMLA, KCFML, Paid Parental Leave (PPL), PFML and other leaves, including evaluating documentation and eligibility.
• Track leave usage and coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate time coding; collaborate with Central HR and Benefits as needed.
• Communicate leave status regularly with employees and their supervisors.
• Provide training to employees and managers on leave processes and responsibilities.
