Job summary

Voya Financial, Inc. is seeking a Claims Consultant for the Leave Management team.

You will serve as a subject matter expert in STD, FMLA, and other leave policies, acting as a liaison for legal and claims operations and handling complex disability and leave claims. In this role you will mentor staff, analyze claim data for trends, maintain SLAs, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders to support client satisfaction and operational goals.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 5 years of experience in claim management (STD, FMLA, PPL, PFL).
• Experience with client escalation and resolution strategies.
• Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong decision making and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company in depositions and arbitrations.
• Act as a bridge between legal teams and claims operations.
• Manage complex/non‑complex disability and leave claims with accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to claim staff, supporting development and consistency in claim handling.
• Serve as a SME on leave policies and procedures.
• Analyze claim data to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
• Maintain service level agreements (SLA).
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects across the department.
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders via phone and email.
• Build and maintain strong relationships to support client satisfaction and operational goals.
