Job summary

Valiant Residential in Grand Prairie, TX is seeking a Leasing Consultant to manage leasing, retention and occupancy while delivering outstanding customer service to visitors, prospects and residents. You will promote a positive community experience and ensure compliance with Fair Housing.

The role requires engaging with the public, handling applications and deposits, and using the Yardi system and MS Office to maintain accurate records.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with the public or sales.
• Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Fair Housing Certification, or willingness to obtain before interacting with prospective residents.
• Demonstrate ability to support and contribute to the community team.
• Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
• Operate MS Office and community software.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Two years experience in previous relevant customer service.
• Neat, clean, and professional throughout the workday.
• Demonstrate ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns to avoid escalation.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospects and qualify by covering all criteria.
• Prepare move-in packages and lease paperwork.
• Record all visits on reports and maintain guest cards.
• Inspect models and available units; communicate service needs to the Community Manager.
• Have the prospect complete the application and secure a deposit per procedures.
• Update the availability report and process applications (credit checks, rental history).
• Assist in monitoring renewals; distribute and follow up on renewal notices.
• Monitor advertising effectiveness and gather market information.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
• Accept rental payments and route to the Assistant Community Manager.
• Input lease data into the Yardi system and obtain signatures.
• Assist the management team with other tasks.
• Consistently implement community policies.
