Job summary

Valiant Residential in Houston seeks a Leasing Consultant to drive leasing, occupancy and retention for the community with a strong customer service focus.

You will greet prospects, qualify leads, prepare move-in packages, process applications, coordinate with the Community Manager, and support renewals while representing the company professionally. The role requires teamwork, attention to detail, and flexible scheduling including evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in working with the public and/or sales.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to support and contribute to the community team.
• Operate Microsoft Office including Word and MS Outlook; familiarity with community software.
• Positive attitude and professional appearance.
• Willingness to participate in training and adapt to laws.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Two years of customer service experience.
• Demonstrate ability to diffuse and respond to customer concerns.

Responsibilities

• Greet prospects and qualify by criteria (ask questions, use guest cards).
• Prepare move-in packages and lease paperwork.
• Record telephone and in-person visits; file guest cards per procedures.
• Inspect models and communicate service needs to the Community Manager.
• Process applications and deposits per procedures; submit for approval.
• Update availability reports and process applications for approval (credit check, rental history).
• Assist in monitoring renewals; distribute and follow up on renewal notices.
• Monitor advertising effectiveness; gather market information and file.
• Represent the company professionally at all times.
• Accept rental payments and route to the Assistant Community Manager.
• Input lease details in the Yardi System accurately; review with Community Manager before signatures.
• Assist management with additional tasks and enforce community policies.
