Job summary

Cardinal Group Companies in Fairfax, VA seeks a Leasing Community Intern (Temporary, Non-Exempt) to deliver high quality resident service and support occupancy goals. This role trains in Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) and requires evening/weekend availability.

You will assist at the front desk, process applications, maintain files, and participate in community events while learning leasing best practices and company culture.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university with minimum credit hours.
• Must have completed at least one year at the enrolled college/university.
• GPA must be at least 2.5; GPA verified annually; probation/suspension possible for low GPA.
• Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community.
• Must live on designated community floor as assigned.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Available to work ~20 hours per week.
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Ability to embody Cardinal Culture and Core Values daily.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for customer service and ensure resident satisfaction.
• Administrative front desk tasks and duties.
• Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) training.
• Greet prospects, answer leasing calls, determine needs, present the community, and close the sale.
• Complete lease applications and lease file paperwork.
• Pass third party leasing shops and become Cardinal Way of Leasing certified.
• Maintain lease file documentation and participate in audits.
• Keep tour path clean for positive first impressions.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude with team, residents, and vendors.
• Assist with community events and other projects.
• Participate in Cardinal U training.
• "On-call" responsibilities (lock-outs, nightly rounds).
• Work evenings and weekends.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university

Must have completed a minimum of one year at the enrolled college/university

Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA (annual verification)
