Job summary

Cardinal is seeking a Leasing Community Intern (Temporary, Non-Exempt) in Champaign, IL to deliver high quality customer service to residents, manage front desk tasks, and support leasing efforts to achieve 100% occupancy.

The role requires enrollment in a degree program, ability to work evenings and weekends, and willingness to complete Cardinal Way of Leasing training. Candidates should be prepared to pass third-party leasing shops and maintain accurate lease documentation.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Must have completed a minimum of one year at the enrolled college or university.
• Must maintain a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA. GPA will be verified annually.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for customer service by consistently going above and beyond to ensure that Cardinal customers are satisfied.
• Administrative front desk tasks and duties.
• Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) training as required.
• Utilize the Cardinal Way of Leasing by greeting prospective clients, answering leasing calls, determining needs, presenting the community and apartments, and closing the sale.
• Complete all lease applications and lease file paperwork.
• Pass third party leasing shops and become Cardinal Way of Leasing certified.
• Maintain accurate lease file documentation; participate in lease file audits as assigned by the Community Manager.
• Maintain cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression of the community.
• Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude with team members, residents, prospective residents, and vendors.
• Participate in and assist with planning community events.
• Assist with various community projects as assigned by the Community Manager.
• On-call responsibilities (lock-outs, nightly rounds, etc.) and availability evenings and weekends.
