Job summary

Cardinal Group is seeking a Leasing Community Intern (Temporary, Non-Exempt) in Tallahassee, FL. The role focuses on delivering exceptional resident service, front desk duties, and active participation in leasing processes to maintain occupancy and drive pre-leasing activity.

The intern will follow Cardinal’s leasing standards, complete required trainings, and support events while working roughly 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must have completed high school or equivalent.
• Currently enrolled in a degree program with a minimum of 6 credit hours.
• Must have completed at least one year at the enrolled college/university.
• Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA; annual verification.
• Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community.
• Must live on designated community floor as assigned by Community Manager.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Available to work approximately 20 hours per week.
• Available evenings and weekends.
• Ability to embody Cardinal Culture and Core Values daily.

Responsibilities

• Be an ambassador for customer service by consistently going above and beyond to ensure Cardinal customers are satisfied.
• Perform Administrative Front Desk tasks and duties.
• Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing (CWoL) training as required.
• Greet prospective clients and answer leasing calls; determine needs and preferences.
• Professionally present the community and apartment homes; use feature/benefit selling.
• Close the sale and follow up with prospects.
• Complete all lease applications and lease file paperwork.
• Pass third party leasing shops and become Cardinal Way of Leasing certified.
• Maintain accurate lease file documentation; participate in lease file audits.
• Keep the tour path clean to create a positive first impression.
• Maintain a positive, professional attitude with team, residents, and vendors.
• Assist with planning community events.
• Support with various additional community projects as assigned by the Community Manager.
• Participate in Cardinal U training as required.
• On-call responsibilities (lock-outs, nightly rounds).
• Work evenings and weekends.
