Job summary

Stoughton Trailers, LLC seeks a Collections Specialist to manage past due lease payments via phone and written communications. You will coordinate trailer repossessions, work with legal teams, supervise clerical staff, and verify invoicing and commissions for dealer leases.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and proficiency with Excel/WinWord, with adherence to company policies and safety requirements. Knowledge of leasing software is a plus.

Qualifications

• Good telephone communication skills.
• Ability to interpret information received from customer and make decisions.
• Good written communication skills.
• Detail oriented regarding documentation of information communicated between customer and company.
• Professional conduct, not abusive when dealing with outsiders.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and WinWord.
• Ability to learn HP system designed software for Leasing division.

Responsibilities

• Customer contact regarding past due lease payments either via telephone or in writing, including handling sometimes confrontational situations.
• Recovery and coordination of trailer moves to repossess and relocate trailers for sale or movement to Stoughton controlled property.
• Coordinate with internal and external legal teams for collection lawsuits and bankruptcies; provide documentation for legal remedies.
• Supervise clerical staff and ensure filings to perfect company interests are timely.
• Verify pricing accuracy and commissions due to dealers for new leases.
• Review vendor invoices and assign correct general ledger codes.
• Perform other special projects as requested by management; contribute to team effort and safety compliance.
