Job summary

Cable One in the United States is seeking a Lease Accounting Specialist to maintain ASC 842 lease schedules, deepen end-to-end understanding of lease accounting processes, and support internal and external reporting. The role involves preparing analyses and journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, aiding audit activities including SOX, and driving improvements in controls.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting and practical GL experience are required, with ASC 842 knowledge highly

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting and a minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including related stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls that support internal and external reporting.
• Proactively works on preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; Investigates and resolves variances on a timely basis.
• Supports assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Proactively seeks to keep abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards promulgated by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB that affect internal accounting and reporting practices.
