Job summary

Cable One is seeking an experienced Lease Accountant to join our accounting team. The role focuses on maintaining lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842, understanding end-to-end processes, and supporting internal controls and reporting.

The candidate will prepare analyses and journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and assist with audits and SOX compliance. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and at least one year of GL experience are required, with ASC 842 experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting; and a minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls.
• Proactively prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; Investigates and resolves variances.
• Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Keeps abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards by FASB, SEC and PCAOB and analyzes their impact.
