Job summary

6 Degrees Search in Freehold, NJ is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced manufacturing site. You will champion continuous improvement, coach a multi-shift team, and drive safety-first culture with Lean and Six Sigma approaches.

The role requires deep operational rigor, cross-functional collaboration, and a track record of managing 100+ direct/indirect reports, budgets, and capital planning. Local candidates preferred; relocation not offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical field.
• At least seven years of senior operations manufacturing management experience.
• Experience overseeing production in pharmaceutical, personal care, food or beverage manufacturing environments.
• Experience in FDA regulated environments.
• Experience leading direct and indirect reports with at least 100 total reports.
• Root cause analysis and corrective action experience.
• Experience overseeing 24/7 operations.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
• Budget management.
• ERP experience.
• Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Directs 24/7 manufacturing operations to meet targets for safety, quality, throughput, reliability, and cost.
• Designs and deploys the site's continuous improvement strategy using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Builds high-performing operating teams by establishing daily accountability, coaching supervisors and team leads, and overseeing hiring, onboarding, and qualification programs.
• Partners with maintenance, engineering, quality, planning, and logistics to eliminate recurring equipment failures and streamline objectives.
• Manages departmental budgets, labor planning, and operating expenses; advises site leadership on goals and capability improvements.
