Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Center Supervisor to oversee daily operations at the Inspection Center, directing a team of leads and up to 70 associates in a lean manufacturing setting. The role focuses on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement while meeting production and cost objectives.

Applicants should have 5+ years of management experience in automotive or lean environments, strong leadership, and the ability to coach and develop staff.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching and training.
• Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans aligned with the company.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Create a work environment that fosters positive communication and team cohesion.
• Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, orienting, and training employees.
• Ensure progression path training and certification processes are executed.
• Train and mentor leads and associates with competency-based feedback.
• Ensure adequate production capacity levels and assist with planning.
• Comply with health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision to the team in meeting performance metrics.
• Engage the team to focus on quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
