Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to supervise the Inspection Center team, directing 5 leads and up to 70 associates in a lean environment. You will drive continuous improvement, ensure quality standards, and align production with cost objectives.

You will mentor staff, manage training, and develop strategies to meet operational goals while maintaining Carvana’s commitment to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing associates.
• Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and metrics.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean record in last 3 years.
• Ability to maintain high volume, high quality in fast-paced env.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work with teams to achieve results.
• Strong analytical and decision-making ability.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
• Ability to walk up to three miles daily.
• Standing for extended periods; exposure to varying conditions.
• Lift up to 40 pounds independently; PPE may be required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor and hold direct reports accountable; plan succession via coaching and training.
• Contribute to strategic plans and align with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to standards, policies, procedures, and performance metrics.
• Foster a constructive team environment with Carvana values.
• Recruit, select, orient and train supervisory staff.
• Maintain progression path training and certification processes.
• Provide competency-based feedback to leads and associates.
• Ensure sufficient production capacity for each line and assist planning.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and loss prevention guidelines.
• Provide vision to the reconditioning team to meet performance metrics.
• Reinforce quality, production, and cost objectives with the team.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
