Job summary

Carvana is seeking a Reconditioning Manager to oversee the Inspection Center's daily operations and lead a lean manufacturing team of leads and associates. You will ensure quality, production, and cost objectives are met in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor staff, participate in strategic planning, and maintain safety and compliance while driving continuous improvement and strong communication across teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of management experience in automotive or lean manufacturing.
• Deep knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading and developing front-line associates.
• Proven ability to meet project deliverables and metrics.
• Strong English reading, writing and speaking skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid unrestricted driver’s license with a clean 3-year record.
• Ability to manage high-volume, high-quality output in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and walk up to three miles daily.
• Must lift up to 40 pounds independently.
• Requires use of safety equipment and PPE.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
• Mentor and develop direct reports with coaching and training.
• Contribute to strategic plans and align with company goals.
• Ensure adherence to operating standards, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Foster a productive work environment aligned with Carvana Values.
• Maintain supervisory staff through recruitment, onboarding, and training.
• Ensure progressive training and certification processes.
• Provide competency-based feedback to leads and associates.
• Ensure adequate production capacity and assist with planning.
• Ensure health, safety, and loss prevention guidelines.
• Guide the team to meet performance metrics.
• Reinforce quality, production, and cost objectives.
• Lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
