Job summary

Humana is seeking an Associate Director of AI Enablement to lead enterprise-scale AI/ML delivery across multiple tracks, driving change and enabling teams with modern software practices within HIPAA-regulated environments.

The role requires 15+ years in software engineering and 5+ years leading managers, with hands-on expertise in distributed systems, cloud infra, and AI tooling. Location includes multiple U.S. sites, including Fort Lauderdale, FL, with 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in software engineering leadership roles.
• Ownership of multi-track or platform-scale programs (3+ tracks, 25+ engineers).
• Hands-on depth in distributed systems, platform/SRE, ML/AI, or cloud infra.

Responsibilities

• Review architecture decisions, ADRs, and agent design specs and write them when needed.
• Prototype in the agent harness: sub-agent definitions, tool/MCP integrations, prompt specs.
• Read traces, evaluate eval-harness output, and debug agent behavior with engineers.
• Contribute to reference implementations for Factory PODs to pattern from.
• Participate in code and design reviews as an active participant.
